CSC 4800 Theory and Practice of Internet Applications Spring 2003
|
Course Organization: Periodically, I will hand out either a set of readings or
a homework project for the following week(s)'
lectures. Since our course's text does not cover all the material I want to present,
it is important that you keep up with the reading and projects, as my lectures will
assume at least a passing familiarity with them.
There will be approximately 5 graded homework projects (weekly programming or
pencil-and-paper), a web server programming project, two midterms, and a final
project.
Homework assignments cannot be handed in late,
since we may discuss the answers in class the day they are handed in. If you think
you can't get a homework handed in on time, send it to me via email as an attachment!
Programming assignments will lose 10 points for each day after the due date that
they are handed in late. Programs can be handed in as late as 11:59:59 pm the day
they are due, and still be considered "on time."
Academic Integrity: You may not share answers for
assignments or copy answers from any unsanctioned sources, though you are allowed
to discuss problems with programming assignments. Homeworks must be your own work,
and programming assignments must represent your own work. In the team projects,
however, you are strongly encouraged to share work. In general, as long as what
you hand in to me is the product of your own thinking, or is properly attributed
when I allow reliance on outside sources, you are maintaining academic integrity.
WHEN IN DOUBT, consult me or the TA for help. ANY VIOLATION OF ACADEMIC INTEGRITY
WILL RESULT IN AT LEAST A GRADE OF ZERO FOR THE ASSIGNMENT AND A REPORT TO THE
UNIVERSITY ACADEMIC INTEGRITY BOARD. For more information,
please check the Villanova web site for our University's complete Academic
Integrity Policy.
